Pointy Phylogenetic Thing on Wheels

Dinosaurs didn't make it to 2007. They had voracious appetites and ran around on Earth like they owned the place. Then the Ice Age came, and that was the end of it. The stegosauraus lot didn't think "climate change" was real.
Today homo sapiens build tiny items like this to entertain their young. Assemblages of bone structures found in ruins of Antarctica are used to guess at these forms, though exact skin colors are unknown. It is widely believed the stegosauraus' skin was a blend of cobalt and green.

Lines from Cloud Tectonics
Tonight is the last evening this play by The Motorcycle Diaries' screenwriter Jose Rivera is on in Capitol Hill.
Cloud Tectonics, showing at Capitol Hill Arts Center, is really good if you like thinking about how art and math collide, though many reviewers don't write past the fact that most of the time we hear about time.
Or more precisely, the slowing or stopping of it. Yes, this is intriguing and sets the story's frame. But hooked onto that is much more than actors playing out a "what if?" supposition that time could somehow pause.
Earlier in the day I snapped this picture. That evening I heard these lines:
"What better way to respond to a miracle than to fall in love with it?
"The anatomy of the wind.
"The architecture of silence.
"Cloud tectonics."
Even the dynamics of astrophysics figure into the script. Consider the names of our players: Anibal de la Luna and Celestina del Sol. Subtle references throughout touch on energy, chemistry, and spaces powerfully packed with charge.
Not in matter form, mind you, but the shape of blooming love.

Three Lines from Susan Wheeler
Get out there and do it for yourself. Be afraid of nothing and nobody. Fear is the thing that holds people back.

Day trip (3)
Discovery Park is only half an hour away, but yesterday was the first time we went.
Seattle Parks and Recreation describes it as "secluded," but we could catch the #24 and get there pretty easily. It's set on the Magnolia Bluff and overlooks Puget Sound. If it had been clearer we may have seen the Cascade and the Olympic Mountain ranges. But we did enjoy open meadows, sea cliffs and good trails.
You can see the Seattle skyline from a different angle on the way there, it's past this neighborhood called Magnolia. Lots of nice houses on the way. Cool lookout points and beachside walks. Akira took this picture when we were hanging out at the end of the trail, enjoying Sunday, watchin' waves.

Reminisces of West Cork
So today I meet someone who gets me thinking all about Ireland again.
The way it's normal to rent a house that comes furnished. Christmas. Lent. Long sleeves in the summer. Walks with A at sunset. Rounds and more rounds. Stars everywhere. Cows. Yachts. Gourmet cheese and fusion food at the restaurant in Glandore. Dancing lessons. Failed attempts to launch my kite at the beach where they race horses.
"How was Ireland?," the stranger asks, with no intent to care.
